Kansas City is an underdog in name only. I’m a big believer in head coach Andy Reid, who is 31-7 straight-up off a bye, and the Chiefs’ dangerous defense, which ranks Top 10 in DVOA and EPA allowed per play and appears to be peaking at precisely the right time. KC was also a 2-point underdog in Super Bowl LVII and we all know how that went down.

Super Bowl 58 MVP predictions

Covers’ roster of Super Bowl betting experts all weighed in on who they think will claim MVP honors.

Writer
Super Bowl MVP
Jason Logan Patrick Mahomes (+140)
Jared Hochman Brock Purdy (+225)
Joe Osborne Patrick Mahomes (+140)
Josh Inglis Deebo Samuel (+3500)
Rohit Ponnaiya Christian McCaffrey (+475)
Robert Criscola Brandon Aiyuk (+6000)

Patrick Mahomes opened with the shortest odds to win Super Bowl MVP honors despite the fact the 49ers are favored to win the game. A player on the losing team has won the award just once, way back in Super Bowl V, when Dallas Cowboys linebacker Chuck Howley was singled out after picking off two passes and forcing a fumble.

Super Bowl 58 pre-game predictions

Jason LoganNational anthem o90.5 seconds(-112)National anthem odds and props
Jason LoganCoin toss result – Heads(+100)Coin toss odds and props

This projected National Anthem total of 90.5 seconds is surprisingly swift compared to other country music artists who have performed at the Super Bowl in recent years. Going back to 1991, country singers produced an average anthem length of 112.5 seconds. Bettors should also consider Reba’s advanced age as her vocal pacing simply ain’t what it used to be.

Jason Logan“You Make Me Wanna…” to be performed(+115)Super Bowl halftime show props

My eyes immediately go to the +115 price on “You Make Me Wanna,” one of Usher’s most recognizable songs and an absolute gift to be included in the Super Bowl setlist. It’s also a spicy option to be his first song performed at +1,100.

Even after the game ends, there’s still plenty of action. Check out our picks for the exact final score of the game, the Super Bowl MVP, and the color of the Gatorade bath for the winning coach!

The Kansas City Chiefs began the season with the shortest Super Bowl odds, but it was far from a smooth ride for the defending champs early on. Patrick Mahomes & Co. had their struggles during the regular season, and after squeaking past the Bills in the Divisional Round, took care of business against Lamar Jackson and the Ravens to reach their fourth Super Bowl in the past five seasons.

They’ll now face the star-studded San Francisco 49ers, who cruised to a 12-5 record in the regular season before barely outlasting the Green Bay Packers and the Detroit Lions in the playoffs, winning each game by just three points. Will the Niners gain a little more separation in the Super Bowl, or will Mahomes magic continue for one more game?
